Taxpayer, the roundups are only half of it — your tax dollars also fund the other half.

The New York Times just exposed the federal government's enabling the massacre of America's wild horses, in which they’re helicoptered off public land, sold for $25 a head, and funneled into the slaughter pipeline.

Taxpayer, here's the half the Times missed: your tax dollars are also paying white coats to impregnate horses and force them to miscarry.

White Coat Waste obtained the records in its Freedom of Information Act investigation.

Here's what they show.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is funding a $4,500,000 grant that includes experiments at Cornell University ([link removed]) where mares are artificially inseminated and intentionally made to miscarry.

Sixteen mares, aged 4 to 22, per year. Pregnancies terminated between two and six weeks. Tubes are pushed through their cervixes to flush out the embryos, which are then dissected.

Approximately 80 horses will fall victim to this horrific experiment over the life of this grant. They are former racehorses donated to Cornell after they retired from the track, or those who couldn’t withstand intense physical activity.

They survived the racing industry. Now taxpayer-funded white coats are impregnating them and emptying them out, over and over.

Taxpayer, in their own grant documents these experimenters admit horses have "high emotional and economic value," and go on to state the animals may be killed by overdose if they can't be re-homed when the lab is done with them.

Worse: one of this lab's stated goals is to promote the continued use of horses in animal testing. They're not just funding the abuse. They're building the pipeline to expand it.

The NIH already spent  $1,843,776 on this grant. Another $2,600,000 is queued. The grant runs until May 2030.

Here's the part that should make you and every other taxpayer furious.

Last April, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. promised a "dramatic reduction in animal testing at the NIH." The NIH has the authority to end grants like this one. Under Deputy Director Nicole Kleinstreuer — the agency's 'animal testing czar' — it is renewing them instead.

Our strategy works, Taxpayer. WCW's exposés have already shut down animal tests at the Environmental Protection Agency, forced the Navy to end its dog and cat tests, and eliminated the Department of Veterans Affairs' dog, cat, and primate labs.

Eighty horses are next in line. See how they spend your money! ([link removed])

P.S. I want to be clear about what the NIH's own paperwork says, Taxpayer: the white coats know these horses have "high emotional and economic value," and they may kill them by overdose anyway. Help us end funding for these cruel and wasteful experiments. Make a 5X donation right now ([link removed])!

P.P.S. We’re making a big push through September 5th. Help us stop the next $2,600,000 flowing to the grant supporting the Cornell horse lab. Add your name before the deadline, then forward this to one person who loves horses. Donate whatever you can today!!!>>> ([link removed])

Taxpayers shouldn't be forced to pay $20 billion+ for wasteful government animal experiments.
