Hydrant Flushing
Hydrant Flushing
Hydrant flushing began Aug. 31 and will continue through Oct. 2, weather permitting. Crews will be flushing water mains between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Look for posted signage throughout the Village for specific flushing dates in your area.
During flushing, you may notice temporary rust-colored or discolored water. To help prevent laundry discoloration, plan to wash clothes before 7 a.m. or after 5 p.m. If you notice discolored water, run your cold-water faucet for a few minutes until the water clears. Be sure to run cold water from all taps before using hot water.
Hydrant flushing is an important part of maintaining the water system. It helps clear naturally occurring iron buildup from water mains, supports water quality and improves circulation throughout the system.

A New Fall Tradition Is Lighting Up Oswego
Lantern Festival [ [link removed] ]
Fall nights in Oswego are getting a little more exciting. On Oct. 17, the community is invited to experience the first-ever Oswego Lantern Parade and Pop-Up Fall Night Market along the Fox River.
The evening begins with a glowing community parade, as handmade lanterns make their way from the Oswego Public Library to Hudson Crossing Park. Residents of all ages are invited to participate, and the parade is free to join. Lantern-making workshops are being offered throughout the summer and fall for anyone who wants to create their own lantern for the big night.
Then, the fun continues at Hudson Crossing Park with the Oswegoland Park District’s first-ever Night Market. Inspired by their beloved Country Market, this fall version will feature local vendors, food, drinks, live music, a professional pumpkin carving demonstration, interactive experiences, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the riverfront.
And if you need a lantern to light up the night, free lanterns will be available beginning at 5:30 PM in the Oswego Public Library parking lot. Supplies are limited, so be sure to arrive early.
With glowing lanterns, local shopping, great food, music and a beautiful Fox River backdrop, this is shaping up to be one unforgettable fall evening in Oswego.
Mark your calendar for Oct.17 and come be part of a brand-new fall tradition!
