A new Fraser Institute study <[link removed]> confirms what I’ve been saying for years: Canadians’ standard of living is lagging compared to that of our American neighbours.



The gap in living standards between Canada and the U.S. has more than doubled from 1999-2024. 

The average American now earns $83,286 compared to just $59,529 for Canadians. It’s $23,757 more.

But it gets worse.

Labour productivity in the U.S. grew by 67.9% between 1999 and 2025. In Canada? Just 26.7%. 

Canada has also seen a decline in business investment relative to the US. From 2007 to 2024, investment in Canada went from nearly 90 cents per worker for every dollar invested in the United States to 54 cents.

And since 1999, the government sector in Canada grew while the private sector shrank. The US experienced the opposite.

And who was in power during this economic disaster?

The Liberals and fake Conservatives.

Instead of creating wealth, Ottawa has been redistributing it, picking winners and losers, subsidizing corporate cronies, and strangling our economy with red tape.

The Liberals and fake Conservatives gave us more government, more taxes, and more debt; and we got less productivity, less prosperity, and a widening gap with our biggest trading partner.

There is an alternative to that fiasco. It’s the People’s Party.

Our plan is simple and proven: balancing the budget in one year by cutting $65 billion, including eliminating all subsidies to businesses, and then use the surplus to:

- Abolish the capital gains tax to encourage investment, innovation, and risk-taking.
- Implement aflat corporate tax rate of 10% to make Canada competitive again.
- Lower personal income tax. 

The Liberal-Conservative cartel has deep pockets and the media on their side. We have something better: the truth, and Canadians who are ready to fight for a better country.
