Late last night, Elon Musk officially filed with the FEC to spend some of
his nearly $1 trillion in Michigan to help Mike Rogers and stop us from
winning. Musk spent big in 2024, and we saw a red wave put Trump back in
the White House.
We’re already being outspent and out-advertised. I’m worried it could get
worse. And the thing about Elon is he has virtually unlimited money. He
could spend like 0.5% of his net worth, and it would change this whole
race.
But what we showed in the primary, where we were outspent 11-to-1, is that
we can still beat the big money guys if we put up good enough numbers of
our own.
So, look, I know folks like us can’t donate millions of dollars like they
can. We don’t have to. Because if something like 1-in-4 of the people
reading this email decide, “You know what? I can step up and give
$10,” we will be able to raise enough to counter their
attacks and spread our good word to the voters of Michigan.

These guys like Elon, they’re not spending against me because they think
our policies are wrong. They’re spending because they think they can put
in a few million dollars and get back a whole lot more in tax breaks.
They’re spending to protect their own pocketbooks.
I'm not telling you this to scare you. We can get outspent and still win.
But we can't get outspent by any number and still win.
If Elon buys every ad break between now and November, most Michiganders
will only ever hear his version of me. They won’t hear our message. And
then it won't matter how good our ideas are, because people won’t be
hearing them at all.
