John,

A Georgia police chief used Flock cameras to stalk his ex-girlfriend and her teenage daughter roughly 600 times.

While she was going about her life, her ex-partner was able to use his department’s surveillance network—paid for with taxpayer dollars—to track her every move.

Flock calls its cameras “public safety technology.” But when rogue officers can leverage them to secretly monitor women, they can become tools of intimidation, coercion, and abuse.

And this is not an isolated incident.

At least 50 law enforcement officers [[link removed]] have been charged with or accused of misusing automatic license-plate reader systems to track, stalk, or harass people. In more than half of the cases, officers allegedly targeted wives, girlfriends, ex-partners, or other women.

We cannot allow Flock’s vast surveillance network to go unchecked. Congress must stand with women, ban federal funding for Flock cameras, and pass strict regulations on this technology. We need limits on access, retention, and sharing of this data with real accountability for those who misuse it.

Sign if you agree: Congress must rein in Flock cameras and protect Americans from surveillance abuse. [[link removed]]

This is a women’s safety crisis. In 2021, 34% of female murder victims [[link removed]] were killed by an intimate partner. Women are already forced to live in an environment that enables and often encourages their abuse and exploitation. Flock cameras are giving abusers yet another tool to track, control, and endanger women.

I’m co-sponsoring Representative Massie’s Flock-Off Act , legislation that would ban federal funding for Flock cameras and other technology used to track people in real time without a warrant. We refuse to accept a brave new world where the systems that are supposed to protect us are being used against us.

Tell Congress: Pass the Flock-Off Act and place restrictions on AI-powered surveillance technology. [[link removed]]
