I wanted you to hear this update directly from me. A few weeks ago, Elon Musk announced plans to spend at least $100 million to keep Republican control of the House and Senate. And as of late last night, that spending has started hitting the ground in Ohio.

Let’s call it what it is: Elon is meddling in our elections to buy influence in Washington so corrupt politicians keep cutting his taxes and rigging the system in his favor.

He knows that if he can keep Jon Husted in the U.S. Senate, he and his billionaire class will have a Senator – and a Republican Senate majority – to do their bidding.

To Elon Musk, $100 million is couch cushion change. He’s the richest man in the world. And while I wish money like this didn’t have an impact on our races, the tragic reality is it can – and it will.

The very first Ohioans will be casting their ballots this month. If we let the first and loudest message they see be the misleading ads and mail coming from Elon Musk, we will lose critical ground and credibility at the most important time. In a race we’re expecting to come down to a few thousand votes, Elon’s spending could be what tips the scale against us.

This seat belongs to you, not to Elon Musk. But the only way we can put an end to billionaires buying elections is with the generosity of folks just like you stepping up and giving $5, $10, or $25 at a time.
