I'm excited to get to Washington and work for my constituents. I'm even more excited to do so alongside other progressives like Mondaire Jones, the Democratic nominee for Congress in New York's 17th District.

Like me, Mondaire was raised working class by a single mom in New York. Mondaire grew up in Section 8 housing and on food stamps. His grandfather was a janitor, and his grandmother cleaned homes.

We both understand the struggles facing so many Americans because we've lived them ourselves. That's why, in Congress, we're ready to fight for them and for progressive policies — such as a Green New Deal and Medicare for All.
