** 2019 is a critical year for democracy. Whoever controls state legislatures ([link removed]) during 2020 will have the power to re-draw congressional district lines for the next ten years. Additionally, issues that impact so many – abortion access, gun control, education, the environment – are determined at the state level.

Sister District DC/VA is working to flip the Virginia House of Delegates, which is currently controlled by Republicans by only two votes (51-49). We are supporting Hala Ayala ([link removed]) and Josh Cole ([link removed]) through canvassing, phonebanking, postcarding and textbanking.
To learn how to get involved, please join us on Wednesday, September 4th at 6:30 pm at WNDC ([link removed]) for VOTER ENGAGEMENT 101. We will:
* Learn about the candidates and their platforms;
* Share out tips and tricks to reach voters;
* Get to know our fellow volunteers!
