John,
We've got three events over the next week that we want to make sure are on your calendar:
Wed, Sept 9th: Armchair Chat with Nikema Williams
Vote. By. Mail.
Three simple words that have become
the focus of 2020 turnout. Trump's scaremongering about it. Democrats and Republicans are battling out multiple cases in court over it. And fundamentally, it's the safest way for people to vote during this pandemic.
From a campaigning perspective, there's a lot you need to know about voting by mail. When do ballots start getting mailed out? How will we know who's requested a ballot or if they've already submitted one? What rights do we have to ensure a fair and transparent counting process?
We're excited to be joined by Georgia State Senator, chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia, and candidate for Congress: Nikema Williams!
This Wednesday, September 9th at 6:00 p.m. ET, Nikema and Ross will be chatting about the importance of vote-by-mail in this election and how campaigns can build out their VBM programs. Just RSVP here to join the chat -- and remember -- it's free!
This event is free!
Wed, Sept 9th: House Party with Run for Something
There's still time to get your ticket for tomorrow's House Party with three of our endorsed candidates in New York: State Senator Alessandra Biaggi, state Assembly candidate Amanda Septimo, and Administrative Law Judge Karen Best.
Join us at 8 p.m. ET tomorrow! Tickets start at just $25.
Tues, Sept 15th: Unapologetically Progressive - Michigan
Our next episode of
Unapologetically Progressive -- our bi-weekly deep dive into critical battleground states where we meet with young progressives working to build sustainable power for their communities -- will feature the Great Lake State: Michigan
A perpetual swing state that, after experiencing some of the most painful failures of Republican governance, ended their GOP trifecta in 2018 by electing Gretchen Whitmer governor. But both state legislative chambers are still controlled by Republicans.
2020 can be our year to change that.
Michigan is experiencing a shocking amount of election spending, like, Cold-War-era-arms-race spending. One report says that
campaigns may spend close to $150 million on just TV ads.
But you know what we think will really make the difference in turning Michigan blue? People power.
We're investing heavily in down-ballot candidates to run effective campaigns in their communities that we believe are critical to generating turnout for the top of the Democratic ticket.
But we need your help to make it happen. Tuesday, September 15th at 8:00 p.m. ET, we'll be joined by progressive leaders on the ground who can make or break victory in Michigan. Join our virtual event (it's FREE!) to meet them and support their work:
This event is free!
Hope we see you at these great events.
