The men and women who gave their lives in service to this nation are heroes. To speak anything less of them -- as Donald Trump has done -- is nothing short of despicable.

I know what it means to serve this country. I spent over 10 years in the United States Navy Reserve and rose to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. My time in the Reserve was nothing but a privilege, John, and it is with the same humility and honor that I represent the people of Michigan in Congress.

Our country deserves leaders who will fight for the American people. That is why it is so crucial that we do everything in our power to elect Democrats up and down the ballot this year. We have a real shot at flipping the Senate, but only if we can hold onto critical battleground states like Michigan.
