Dear John,

Over the past few days, I have been on the road with Nationals Member for Nicholls Sam Birrell ([link removed]) in Victoria’s north - places like Kilmore, Echuca and Shepparton - talking with council leaders, farmers, food manufacturers and local businesses.

This is the heart of our nation's food bowl - the Murray Darling.

There is enormous potential here thanks to the land, water, people and beauty of the landscapes.

But that potential is not being met because Labor has placed a big pair of net zero handcuffs on our communities.

Energy prices are too high to process our wonderful food - so they are getting undercut by Chinese imports.

Labor has started buying up water reducing farm production and hollowing out country towns.

Growing towns are held back by poor planning and funding for urban pet projects not productivity enhancing rural infrastructure.

Large renewable projects are destroying our local environments all thanks to an obsession with net zero.

That's the sad news.

But the good news is that this latent potential can be unlocked - and The Nationals have a plan to make it happen:

LOWER TAXES ([link removed])
We’ll axe Labor’s new taxes and stop bracket creep, so you keep more of what you earn.

CHEAPER POWER ([link removed]) and WATER ([link removed])
We’ll scrap net zero, end water buybacks, build dams and use Australia’s energy resources to get power prices down and keep our industries here.

LESS MIGRATION AND MORE HOMES ([link removed])
We’ll stop Labor’s mass migration and link migration to the homes we build, so housing and services can catch up. Keep the skilled and seasonal workers regional industries need, while ending the student-visa mess that is putting too much pressure on our country.

PUT AUSTRALIANS FIRST ([link removed])
We’ll use our resources to build the roads, water, fuel security and productive industries a strong country needs, not just ship our wealth overseas and buy it back later.

The Nationals have a plan to unlock Australia and unleash a massive economic boom that makes us the richest nation on earth.
