Last week, the Supreme Court let Trump move ahead with his mail-in voting order, 6-3.

Nobody who follows this Court was surprised. That's the part I want to talk about — the fact that none of us were surprised they took a jackhammer to democracy.

I spent twenty years in engineering before I got here. In that line of work, when an instrument gives you the same reading no matter what you feed into it, you don't call it precise.

You call it broken.

That's where we are with this Court. You can hand it a voting case, a climate case, or a corruption case, and a reasonably informed person can guess the outcome before the briefs are filed. A court that is predictable has stopped doing the job courts exist to do.

So I wrote a bill to fix it. The Restoring Judicial Separation of Powers Act :

* A separate court to handle most cases involving the federal government, so the branch being sued doesn't get to pick its own judges for life.

* Thirteen judges, drawn at random from the federal bench, serving one-year terms. Nobody can shop for a favorable panel, because nobody knows who the panel will be.

* A 70% supermajority to strike down an act of Congress. If a law passes both chambers and is signed, it should take more than five people to erase it.

None of that is radical. It's how you'd design any system where you care more about getting the right answer than getting your answer.

This bill goes exactly nowhere while MAGA runs the House.

That's the whole argument for this campaign. Every reform worth having is sitting behind the same locked door, and there's one way through it.

Chip in $15 to help me get back to Washington with a majority that will actually take this up. [[link removed]]
