While McConnell and his buddies refuse to help keep Americans in their homes, Wall Street is hitting record highs. Instead of providing Americans with rental assistance, Trump issued a temporary delay in evictions, conveniently until right after the November election. If Donald Trump wins again, the coronavirus recovery will continue to make the rich richer and the poor poorer.

Last night I joined Chris Hayes live on MSNBC to talk about this evictions crisis and the lack of federal leadership from Mitch McConnell and President Trump throughout the entirety of the ongoing pandemic.

We talked about the fact that millions of Americans are struggling to get by, while the stock market booms, allowing the very wealthy to get richer and richer. Trump, McConnell and their campaign donors have made millions while so many families can’t even afford to put food on the table.

They’ve scapegoated poor Americans and tried to paint them as lazy — while big corporations cash stimulus checks and members of Congress trade stock tips. Instead of helping Americans get by, they’re busy attending Trump’s rallies and refusing to work with Democrats.

Team, enough is enough. We need to remove Donald Trump from office and pack Congress with people first leaders who will fight every day to protect poor and working-class Americans.
