CONCORD, N.H. — New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Scott Maltzie released the following statement on yesterday’s votes by Chris Pappas and Maggie Goodlander on a resolution condemning socialism:

“This vote proves what Republicans have known all along: Chris Pappas and Maggie Goodlander are further left than they want Granite Staters to know,” said NHGOP Chairman Scott Maltzie. “Chris Pappas voted against a resolution condemning socialism, which is baffling. He supports the DSA and its radical agenda, including its call to abolish the U.S. Senate, the very seat he is trying to win.”

“Maggie Goodlander is no better. She voted ‘present’ on the resolution rather than taking a clear stand against socialism. Granite Staters deserve to know where these candidates stand and understand the consequences of sending politicians to Washington who refuse to take a stand against radical policies.”

Background: H. Res. 1490, “Providing for the condemnation and denouncement of socialism in all its forms, and for other purposes,” was voted on September 1st, 2026, with Roll Call 289.
