George Orwell saw it

Patriot,

The surveillance state is coming to a street corner near you . . .

. . . if it isn’t already there!

All across America, state and local governments are installing Flock Safety cameras and other automated license plate readers.

These LPRs photograph vehicles, identify their license plates and physical characteristics, and add that information to massive databases accessible by thousands of law enforcement agencies.

It’s not just your license plate.

It’s your bumper stickers. The make and color of your car. The dent in your door. Your roof rack.

And it all goes into a database the government controls.

They’ll tell you, “If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear.”

But just as the NSA gathers up information on your phone calls, text messages, internet browsing, and more – and then exploits that information – the state and local police are gathering information on your driving habits, the routes you drive, your vehicle’s characteristics . . . and abusing that information.

Take for example the Florida “Deputy of the Year” who tracked his ex-girlfriend by searching the data Flock cameras captured . . . over 700 times!

So the government is watching your every step . . .

. . . And you don't have to be suspected of committing a crime.

Every innocent American driving down the road is swept into the system.

Stop Flock.png

A recent report on the growing backlash against Flock cameras documented concerns about mistaken vehicle matches that resulted in innocent motorists being pulled over, detained, or even confronted at gunpoint.

In just one California city, a police review found their automated cameras made mistakes in 71% of their felony alerts.

Innocent citizens who are wrongfully accused are still forced to endure the trauma – and the financial burden of defending themselves!

And there are numerous instances of officers abusing access to Flock databases to track former romantic partners, relatives, and other individuals for personal reasons.

And here's what should really concern every American:

This isn't just about one camera.

Flock says its network now conducts billions of vehicle scans every month. Even an extraordinarily high accuracy rate would still mean an enormous number of potential errors when you're talking about that scale of surveillance.

That's why opposition is growing.

Communities across the country are rejecting or canceling Flock contracts. Cities across America have terminated contracts and removed these spy cameras.

But thousands are still in place and collecting information about you.

And now we need our governors to act.

TELL YOUR GOVERNOR:

STOP FUNDING FLOCK AND OTHER MASS SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS.

STOP INSTALLING NEW LICENSE PLATE READERS.

REMOVE THE CAMERAS ALREADY INSTALLED ON STATE, COUNTY, AND CITY PROPERTY.

We don’t need a government database recording where innocent Americans drive, when they drive there, and what their vehicles look like.

That's not freedom.

That's a surveillance state.

The Fourth Amendment was written to protect Americans from exactly the kind of unchecked government intrusion that today's technology makes possible.

Legal scholars have raised serious Fourth Amendment concerns about the way these systems collect, retain, and make vehicle-location information available.

But good citizens like you need to speak out.

Your governor needs to hear from you.

[TELL YOUR GOVERNOR: STOP THE SPY CAMERAS →]

And Campaign for Liberty needs your help to fight back.

The surveillance state isn't going to dismantle itself.

We need to expose these programs, organize grassroots opposition, pressure elected officials, and keep fighting for the constitutional rights of every American.

After you sign your petition to your governor to stop the spy cameras, will you chip-in a donation today to help Campaign for Liberty take on the growing surveillance state?

[YES! I'LL HELP FIGHT THE SPY STATE →]

Every dollar helps us continue the fight for privacy, liberty, and the Fourth Amendment.

Government and the police should be going after real criminals -- not building databases that track the movements of innocent Americans like you.

Stop the cameras. Stop the surveillance. Defend liberty.

Sign your petition to your governor now to stop the spy cameras.

Then chip-in a donation today to help Campaign for Liberty take on the growing surveillance state.

It’s pressure from good people who value our rights and freedoms that force the politicians and statists to back off.

But if you and I don’t turn up the heat, they’ll keep doing what they do: rob us of our liberties.

Sign your petition now and help stop the Spy State.
