Friend,
I've been arrested a few times – and let me tell you, I'm proud of it.
Once was back in 2014 when I led a sit-in at the Georgia Capitol for Medicaid expansion. Then, three years later, when the GOP tried to gut the Affordable Care Act and the Children's Health Insurance Program, I was arrested again for protesting in our nation's capital. Most politicians wouldn't share this, but I'm not your typical candidate, and this isn't your typical story.
So when I say I'm going to fight for you – for your families, for your access to health care, for your right to vote – I mean it. Because I've put my life on the line for these issues, and I'm not stopping any time soon.
I'm running for Senate to restore moral leadership to Washington and make our government work for the people, not the politicians. While my Republican opponent has cashed in on her public office and attacked our health care – including protections for those with preexisting conditions – I'm a pastor who's dedicated my life to serving others. As a senator, I'll always put Georgians first.
But here's the thing: My opponent is spending $20 million of her personal fortune to defeat me, and Mitch McConnell's GOP fundraising machine is funneling millions more into our state to keep this seat red.
That's why I need your help. We can build a fairer, more just society – one in which health care is treated like a right, not a privilege. But the only way we can fight back against GOP attacks, win this toss-up race and make our vision a reality is with your grassroots support.
So please, friend: If you believe in the future we're fighting for, will you give $5 or more now to power our movement forward, flip Georgia blue and take back the Senate for Democrats?
Thank you for standing with me in this critical fight for justice.
