Mann.House.Gov This Week in Congress Yesterday, the House passed a Senate amendment to the Continuing Resolution we had already voted on in July, which will now get signed by President Trump. This bipartisan legislation will fund the government through December 11 at current, fiscally responsible levels and prevent a government shutdown at the end of September. House Republicans are acting responsibly and providing certainty while Congress finishes work on the remaining Fiscal Year 2027 appropriations bills. The House also passed a resolution condemning socialism in all its forms. For years, Americans were told socialism was a fringe movement on the left, but that is simply no longer true. Socialist candidates are building political machines across the country, and the message inside today’s Democratic Party is increasingly clear: embrace the socialist agenda or step aside for someone who will. History has shown us that socialism leads to concentrated government power, weakened private property rights, and individual liberty being replaced by government control. America became the greatest country on earth because we rejected that model, and I am proud that House Republicans rejected it again. Later today at 5:00 PM CT, I will host a live telephone town hall to hear directly from residents across the Big First. Representing Kansans means listening to your questions, concerns, and ideas, and I look forward to discussing the issues Congress is working on and what matters most to our communities. You can tune in at mann.house.gov/live. Honoring Senator Dole's Legacy It was an honor to host the dedication of the Robert J. Dole Memorial Post Office Building in Russell and see legislation I introduced become a lasting tribute to one of Kansas’ greatest public servants. After Senator Dole passed away, I introduced a bill to rename his hometown post office in his honor. I was grateful to see that legislation pass Congress and be signed into law, and even more grateful to join Kansans in Russell to officially dedicate the building that now bears his name. Bob Dole’s story is inseparable from Russell and from our state. He served our country in uniform, overcame tremendous adversity, and spent decades serving Kansans in public office. Through every chapter of his remarkable life, he never forgot where he came from or the people and values that shaped him. I hope every Kansan who walks through these doors is reminded of Senator Dole’s lifetime of service, his love for our state, and the enduring example he set for generations to come. Pressing ATF for Clarity on New Suppressor Regulations The Second Amendment is a fundamental constitutional right, and law-abiding Americans should not be left guessing about how the federal government intends to enforce the law. I sent a letter to ATF Director Robert Cekada last week requesting clear and timely guidance following the federal court ruling in Silencer Shop Foundation v. ATF, which affects federal suppressor registration requirements. The ruling has created uncertainty for firearm owners, manufacturers, and federally licensed dealers about pending applications, Form 4 approvals, and which requirements remain in effect. I am asking ATF to provide answers on how it will implement the ruling, how existing and pending applications will be handled, and what law-abiding Americans should expect moving forward. Protecting Second Amendment rights also means holding federal agencies accountable and demanding clear, transparent rules for the people they regulate. Fighting for Kansans' 2A Rights Celebrating New Investments in the Big First Kansas agriculture is at its best when innovation creates new opportunities for our farmers and ranchers. I was honored to attend and speak at the ribbon-cutting for PureField Ingredients’ new facility in Russell. This integrated food and renewable-fuels plant will process locally grown Kansas wheat and sorghum into functional food ingredients, renewable fuels, and animal feed while supplying low-carbon-intensity fuels. This new facility will strengthen demand for Kansas wheat and sorghum while supporting farmers, rural communities, and American energy.
