Survey Says: Telehealth
Telehealth has proven to be a viable option for many people to obtain birth control. A new national survey released by Power to Decide shows that a vast majority of respondents (77%) agree that telehealth is a useful method to get birth control when in-person visits with a provider are not possible. Yet, despite overwhelming support for telehealth, critical information gaps remain. Specifically, only 36% of individuals reported being able to explain what telehealth is and only 24% say they know how to find a telehealth provider.
RWB Team: Oklahoma County, Oklahoma
Earlier this year, we selected 8 teams from across the US to partner with us in implementing our reproductive well-being work within their communities. Reproductive well-being means that all people have the information, services, and support they need to have control over their bodies and to make their own decisions related to sexuality and reproduction throughout their lives.
Oklahoma has the third highest teen birth rate in the nation, and Oklahoma County has the highest number of teen births in the state.
Thrive, Sexual Health Collective for Youth, in partnership with BNC Global Consulting and the Oklahoma County Health Department plan to lead a collective impact collaboration to reduce teen pregnancy and improve sexual health among adolescents in Oklahoma County, with specific emphasis on youth in the foster care system.

This blog covers two programs helping young people get the birth control they need and deserve.
