A county packed with data centers is telling teachers and public employees to turn off lights, shut down computers, and conserve electricity because power costs are surging. We are making our kids learn in the dark. Think about that. That should be a warning to every community in Georgia. We cannot let billionaire-backed tech companies and massive data centers drain our grid, strain our water, reshape our communities, and then hand the bill to families, schools, small businesses, and taxpayers. I’m running for Congress because Georgia families deserve leaders who will stand up to powerful interests — and who know how to follow the facts. As a PhD microbiologist, I know what it means to look at the evidence, ask hard questions, and challenge the people who expect the rest of us to stay quiet. Data centers are being sold as “innovation.” But too often, the deal looks like this: wealthy corporations get tax breaks, special treatment, and use enormous amounts of energy — while ordinary folks are told to pay more, conserve more, and accept less. That is not progress. That is a giveaway. I believe progress should serve people, not the other way around. In Congress, I will fight to rein in reckless data center development, end giveaways to corporations that do not need them, protect our schools and neighborhoods, and make sure billionaires and Big Tech pay their fair share. This fight is about who government works for. I believe Georgia’s future shouldn’t be written by wealthy corporations demanding more power, more land, more water, and more subsidies. I believe it should be written by communities, teachers, parents, workers, scientists, and leaders who believe facts still matter. If you agree, help us win this race by chipping in whatever you can today. I’m ready to bring a scientist’s voice to Congress — and to make sure Georgia families are not left in the dark. Donate today to help us win this fight.
