Friend,
Just weeks before the general election, Attorney General William Barr has yet again threatened our democracy with an alarming abuse of power – another example of his craven submission and devotion to Donald Trump's political bidding.
AG Barr has just "fired" an experienced public servant from a top national security post and replaced him with a conservative political appointee who will have a key role in deciding when and how the Justice Department alerts the public about foreign interference in our elections. Remember, this is the very kind of interference that we know the Russians are engaged in again this year, but which the White House refuses to acknowledge, combat or condemn.
In the face of overwhelming evidence that Russia is working to sabotage our election system, this looks like another piece of the Trump administration's desperate embrace of the Kremlin's efforts to swing the election – and the administration's complicity in it. We cannot let it go unchecked.
That's why I'm calling for William Barr's resignation from the Department of Justice, and I'm calling for it immediately. The threats to our democracy right now are simply too great for anyone to stay silent in this fight, so I'm counting on you to speak out beside me to demand justice and accountability – before it's too late:
Will you sign my petition calling for Attorney General William Barr's immediate resignation? He must not be allowed to continue decimating the integrity and independence of the Department of Justice.

Donald Trump made it clear that he wanted an attorney general who would act as his political henchman – and William Barr has delivered at every turn. Barr distorted the truth about Russia's interference in the 2016 election to cover up Trump's corruption. He forestalled justified calls for Trump's impeachment. He dropped the charges against Trump's former National Security Adviser, Michael Flynn. And now, he's aiding and abetting Trump's desperate attempt to hang onto power.
We're facing unprecedented levels of corruption and authoritarian behavior from this president and his administration. We do not want to look back and wish we had done more to protect our democracy. Too much is at stake. So please, add your voice alongside mine right away:
Click here now to sign my petition demanding Attorney General William Barr resign immediately for his rampant abuse of power. Every one of us must speak out to bring forth long overdue justice.
