The DNC officially approved Virginia as an early 2028 presidential primary state. Here is why that matters for our future.
Team,
I have some important news to share with you today:
At their annual Summer Meeting, the Democratic National Committee officially voted to place Virginia in the early window of the 2028 presidential primary calendar.
On February 29, 2028, for the very first time, Virginians will have an early and incredibly influential voice as we cast our votes for our next Democratic nominee for President.
This historic decision did not happen by chance. We earned this spot because Virginia reflects the true story of America and the incredible strength of our diverse communities.
From our public school educators to working parents and military families in every corner of the Commonwealth, Virginians show what happens when everyday people lead with heart, hustle, hope… and service. Anyone who wants to lead our nation will now have to come directly to our neighborhoods, sit down with our families, and earn the trust of the people who keep our state moving forward.
But building a grassroots movement worthy of this national spotlight takes real, sustained investment.
