Good Morning Friend,
Tomorrow we will join the Nevada Legislature for the Committee to Conduct
an Interim Study Concerning the Costs of Prescription Drugs to elevate the
voices of Nevadans impacted by Big Pharma's price-gouging.
In 2019, pharmaceutical companies increased prices for vital medications
by an average of 10.5% or FIVE times the rate of inflation ([ [link removed] ]CBS News).
While many believe that yearly price hikes can be attributed to the rising
cost of Research and Development, that’s simply not true. Drug companies
spend more money on marketing than they do R&D ([ [link removed] ]Washington Post).
Institute for a Progressive Nevada will be at the hearing advocating for
all of us: Retirees, parents, unemployed people… The ones most impacted by
Big Pharma's decision to make prescription drugs unaffordable.
