Doug sees Alabama as a house with a crowded table. Just like his own.

Before Doug was a Senator, a U.S. Attorney, or a candidate for Governor, he was the son of a steelworker and a homemaker growing up in Fairfield, Alabama.

That’s where he learned the values that have guided him his whole life: hard work, resilience, and community.

As a U.S. Attorney, Doug prosecuted two former Ku Klux Klan members responsible for the 1963 bombing of the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church that killed four young girls. He delivered long-overdue justice to the victims’ families and to Alabama.

In 2017, Doug made history by becoming the first Democrat elected to the United States Senate from Alabama in a quarter-century.

His people-powered campaign proved our values — Alabama values — are more important than any political party, any personality, any prepackaged ideology.

As a Senator, Doug helped pass bipartisan bills that created jobs, restored veterans’ benefits, increased funding for our great HBCUs, and protected our civil rights.

Doug has built his life around serving Alabama: fighting for justice in the courtroom, delivering practical solutions in the Senate, and standing up for working families across the state.

Now he’s running for Governor to keep building a better future for Alabama — one where everyone has a seat at the table. And he needs your help.
