This week is a big week. Schools across the nation opened, and then because of ridiculous CDC quarantining guidelines, are closing again. There is a lot of information for you this week, so just do the best you can! And, for our civics lesson this week, simply talk to your kids or grandkids about September 11, 2001. This year marks the 19th anniversary of that terrible day, and we need to be sure that we live up to the pledge to “never forget.”

Week of Action Against CDC Quarantining Guidelines See below for a detailed PDF for each day of action, which includes signing and sharing a letter about the CDC’s crazy guidelines. And, remember, even if you do not have children or young adults in K-12 or college, you can still take these actions. If you want America to open and our country to stabilize, we need schools to open and stay open. In addition to helping ensure the education of our future generation, it also helps our communities begin to have continuity and predictability again both at home, at places of employment, and which in turn brings continuity and predictability more broadly in our local communities and our entire nation.
Make Real Civics Education a Priority Again Keep an eye out every week for a new activity or book or lesson to bring real civics back to our children.
This week, we will remember and discuss the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. This Friday is September 11th, the 19th anniversary of that horrible day. While some people would like to whitewash what happened or allow our nation to forget, most of us pledged to “never forget.” So, let’s make sure we never forget! We will leave it up to you, depending on the age of your kids or grandkids, how much detail and exactly what you will tell them or talk about. We just want to make sure America remembers the victims and the heroes of that time.
In liberty,
