Meetings Held with Jewish Community Leaders, Government and Campus Representatives

ADL Publishes New Backgrounder on Khalil al-Hayya, Hamas's New Political Chief
In response to the election of Khalil al-Hayya as head of Hamas's political bureau in July 2026, ADL published a new backgrounder, "

Khalil al-Hayya in His Own Words, " documenting the new Hamas chief's record in his own words. A longtime senior Hamas official and Yahya Sinwar's former deputy, al-Hayya has celebrated October 7 as a "miraculous" achievement to be "passed down from generation to generation," and described the attack as "only the first stage" toward the destruction of Israel.
Rather than signal moderation upon taking office, al-Hayya's first address as Hamas leader pledged to "continue on the same path" as Sinwar and called on members to follow in the footsteps of October 7's architects. His statements make clear that Hamas's civilian casualties in Gaza were not an unforeseen consequence, but a deliberate strategic calculation.

To mark the 25th anniversary of the infamous Durban Conference, Ken Jacobson, ADL Deputy National Director,

published an op-ed drawing a direct throughline from the antisemitic and anti-Israel ideology normalized at Durban in 2001 to the global response following the October 7 attack.
ADL held the inaugural training session for the Diplomatic Engagement Corps, a new pilot program to expand consular outreach, bringing together a first cohort of 20 volunteer leaders for training on diplomatic protocol, consular engagement and representing ADL's mission to Jewish communities worldwide.

ADL led a training for guides and directors at the Holocaust Museum of Guatemala, introducing ADL's educational resources, including COAJ and ORA, to strengthen the museum's capacity to educate its thousands of annual visitors, students and teachers.
ADL launched the second cohort of the COAJ teacher training course, a joint initiative with the Cordoba Ministry of Education and DAIA Cordoba, reaching around 350 educators across five webinars to bring antisemitism education into classrooms across Argentina.
