Friend, in September, millions of Americans will celebrate National Public Lands Day by enjoying the parks, trails, forests, and monuments that belong to all of us.

 

This year, it's also a reminder that public lands don't protect themselves. Recent efforts to weaken protections have put some of America’s most treasured landscapes at risk.

We’ve already seen what’s at stake: Protections for Bears Ears and Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monuments were rolled back, leaving nearly 3 million acres vulnerable to mining, drilling, and development.

 

If protections can be rolled back for places as iconic as these, no public land should be taken for granted. Speak up now to help keep public lands in public hands. ([link removed])
