Hi, it’s Governor Gavin Newsom.

In just a moment, I am going to ask you to make a contribution to the Democratic Governors Association. But first, please let me explain why this request – especially today – is so important.

Here’s the truth:

With so many critical elections on the map, it can be hard to keep track – but none are more important than the 36 races for governor this November.

In governors’ races across the country, Republican candidates are backing Donald Trump’s election-denying claims. If they win, they will influence future elections in the swing states that will determine the winner of the 2028 presidential race.

These races couldn’t matter more, but the truth is that many of them fly under the radar. They don’t all generate the same level of attention – or resources – that the higher-profile, headline-grabbing races do. But it’s times like this when they need those resources most. So I’m asking:

I want to stress the importance of this ask. Republicans are ruthless in their pursuit of power, and the only thing that can stop them is us.
