This is not something we like to send, but tonight we are forced to do it: our team is falling short of our end of month goal at the worst possible time, with a little more than 2 months until the midterm election.
Defend Our Courts has been at the epicenter of the fight for voting rights, democracy, and rule of law.
We’ve done this by targeting races most Democratic groups ignore: judicial state supreme court races. We support ethical judges and candidates for elected judicial positions who answer to the Constitution and the law. Not Donald Trump.
We engaged in hand to hand political combat with Trump’s anointed ground general, Scott Presler, in Pennsylvania, the birthplace of American democracy—and we won.
We defeated MAGA, saved three Democratic state supreme court justices, and helped preserve abortion and voting rights for millions of Pennsylvanians.
But our mission is not confined to one state. It can’t be. Trump’s agenda is to “take over the voting” of every state in America. He is using the USPS to attack mail-in voting, sending the FBI to seize ballots in swing states like Georgia, and using DHS and ICE to intimidate, threaten, detain, and kill Americans who stand in his way.
That’s why these deadlines and the goals behind them matter: we’re up against a coordinated, well-funded opposition hellbent on beating us into submission. We are falling short (about $1,618 behind where we need to be right now), and putting out the call for a few heroes tonight to step up and power us through this difficult moment onward to the midterm election.
