ATF BREAKS THEIR SILENCE
Director Cekada breaks the ATF's silence on our court victory, says guidance
is incoming...
Dear John,
On Aug. 5, GOA won our "Big Beautiful Lawsuit" against the registration
requirements of the National Firearms Act.
Three weeks later, and not a word out of ATF.
GOA members responded with a pressure campaign, urging their members of
Congress to pressATF to issue guidance on the ruling.
Now, the ATF Director has finally said something.
"...ATF respects the Court's ruling and the rule of law. We are following the
order and will not take enforcement action against protected parties
inconsistent with that ruling..."

In his post, Director Cekada clearly stated that "ATF will not take
enforcement action against protected parties inconsistent with that ruling."
That coverage applies to protected plaintiffs like Gun Owners Of America and
our members!
Additionally, Director Cekada confirmed that official guidance on the ruling
is incoming, but"getting it RIGHT matters more than getting it out fast."
Cekada is directly responding to the pressure from GOA members in the weeks
following our lawsuit win.
The pressure that you've helped to build has compelled ATF to respond, and
pull back the curtain on their process.
While we know that getting it right matters to ATF and Director Cekada, gun
owners across this country cannot afford to wait in legal limbo.
A Right delayed is a Right denied.
We'll continue to lobby ATF to provide guidance on this ruling ASAP.
In the meantime, please ensure that you are a GOA member, so you can join in
on this historic win.

WHAT ABOUT GUN DEALERS?
Business owners, this part is for you!
Paying dues is one of the traditional marks of membership, which is why we
created acorporate membership for entities, with annual dues and GOA membership
for employees of your business.
This is not the same as GOA's Caliber Club; we're encouraging all members of
that program to sign up as corporate members as well.
We will keep pushing ATF for guidance in writing.
