In 2024, Elon Musk spent a quarter of a billion dollars influencing the outcome of the 2024 election and became what Axios describes as “the largest individual political donor in a single election cycle in U.S. history.”

All signs point to the fact that he’s going to run that same playbook again for the midterms. He’s already pledged to spend up to $120 million through his super PAC to elect Republicans in key states.

Let’s be clear about what people like Elon Musk are trying to do here: Reduce the power that average citizens have in our democracy and let their wealthiest friends fill the vacuum.
