Back when I first decided to run for U.S. Senate, I knew it wouldn’t be easy. I knew there’d be a ton of travel, events, and time spent on the phone and away from my family.

I knew I’d have to face millions and millions of dollars being spent against me and see my opponents try to drag my name through the mud. I even knew that Trump would probably go after me, personally.

But I never thought, after 25 years in the Navy and NASA, that the President of the United States would call for my arrest and execution. I prepared myself for a lot, but even that was beyond my wildest imagination.

Through it all though, I learned that millions of people I might never meet would see all of that and still have the courage to stick with me.

That’s why your support means so much to me. And it’s why I tell you so often that I can’t do this without you. Donations of $5 here or $10 there from grassroots supporters are the largest source of donations we have, by far.
