I wanted to share some great news, Friend.
After more than a month in the Dilley detention center, Jesús Bracho and his 9-year-old daughter have finally been released by ICE.
And it couldn’t have happened without folks like you.
Bracho is a hardworking mechanic with no criminal record. His daughter is a student at Ellison Elementary School in San Antonio.
Last month, Bracho and his daughter were pulled over by Texas state troopers last month while on his way to work. DPS officers then contacted ICE – who detained Bracho and his daughter at Dilley, where they’ve been held for more than a month.
Think about that: for more than a month, ICE imprisoned a 9-year-old girl who wasn’t able to see her friends or family – or receive any kind of education.
Donald Trump’s mass deportation agenda isn’t targeting the “worse of the worst,” as he promised. It’s sweeping up innocent children, as well as countless mothers and fathers without any criminal record.
And it’s all being paid for with our tax dollars. That’s why I won’t stop fighting until EVERY child in ICE detention is released and the Dilley detention center is CLOSED for good. Can you have my back in this fight?
