[1]NNU - Medicare for All!



As millions of people face losing their health insurance following
Republican budget cuts, the public discourse is increasingly focused on
finding solutions to the crisis. A slew of recent articles reflects that
Medicare for All is the best positioned proposal to respond to the cuts
and fix our broken health care system.

Last week, The New Republic highlighted how Medicare for All is making a
powerful comeback in the national conversation. [ [link removed] ]Can you take two

Between millions who are soon to be outright kicked off programs like
Medicaid and millions more who are being hit by skyrocketing premiums
after ACA subsidy rollbacks, it’s clear that working people are under
attack.

That’s why more and more candidates are putting Medicare for All front and
center. They know health care must be guaranteed, not treated as a
privilege.

In peer countries, people don’t spend hours fighting with their insurance
companies for coverage or worrying about prior authorization. They simply
get the care they need, when they need it. If we passed Medicare for All,
we too could make sure health care is a human right.

As we approach the critical midterm election, politicians shouldn’t treat
Medicare for All like a pie-in-the-sky idea. Instead, as The New Republic
points out, “Academics, policymakers, professional societies, unions, and
others should be relentless in their demand for Medicare for All.”
