Our democratic right to protest is at risk.
Today, we expect Priti Patel to issue a clear instruction to the police to shut down our Rebellion.
Will you stand up for our freedom to protest?
Over the last few days we’ve already seen heavy-handed policing - from the potentially unlawful arrests on Lambeth Bridge, to intimidation and misinformation. Now we face our biggest threat yet.
Our Arrestee and Legal support team exists to challenge the powers-that-be when they mis-use the law. To be ready to take our fight to the courts, and keep the rebellion alive, our legal fund needs £340,000.
This is not the first time overzealous policing has tried to shut down our protest. In October 2019, we won a Judicial Review against the Met Police for what the courts called an ‘abuse of power’.
Without funding, this kind of police behaviour will go unchallenged. We cannot let that happen.
If we can raise £340,000 we’ll not only be ready to fight injustice in court, we’ll also be able to support the rebels who are putting their bodies on the line to tell the truth about the climate and ecological emergency.
They are coming for us. Help us be ready.
