A woman in my district - a DACA recipient, a neighbor, someone who has lived here nearly her whole life - waited eight months for a renewal that used to take about two weeks.

8 months of not knowing if she could keep her job. 8 months of not knowing if she could stay in the only country she remembers. This week her renewal came through.

I want to be honest with you about why I am writing this: one renewal is not a policy. There are roughly 54,000 renewals backed up nationwide and thousands of DREAMERs here in San Diego living in that same limbo.
