Dear friends and fellow Democrats,
Thank you to everyone who voted, thank you to all those "registered Republicans" who helped to vote out the Freedom Caucus of Wyoming at nearly all levels. Hooray! However, there is still a lot of work to do. With your help, we can be even more successful in voting in more Democrats than ever at all levels of government.
Now that the primaries are over, we look forward to supporting all Democratic candidates in the General election.
If you would like to help further the Democratic cause, and help us win back the House, the Senate, and all other seats, in both Wyoming and Washington, D.C, here's how:
First-check your voter registration, help your friends register if they haven't done so yet. You can check your voter registration in person, on the Secretary of State's website, or at vote411.org
Donations to local, state and national candidates. Check out the Wyoming roster of candidates.
Follow and attend local events being put on by your local, and state, Democratic party. Follow our social media as well! @tetonwydems on Instagram and tetondems on Facebook.
Use the 5calls app to call your Representatives in Congress and the Senate on all issues-public lands, healthcare, abortion, the Epstein files, the housing crisis, and so many other issues.

Housing News
In local Housing news, the Director of the Jackson/Teton County Affordable Housing Department, April Norton, has officially resigned. She will continue to serve until her replacement has been found. April, in her capacity as Director of the Housing Department, has helped usher in a new era of housing for Jackson, from the Jackson Street apartments, to the Flat Creek apartments on Snow King avenue, and many other successful projects in between. Director Norton, over the last 10 years, while working at the Housing department, has transformed it from a small 1-2 person operation, to a true multi employee highly successful public entity, that has helped to house and retain several hundred families, who would otherwise have most likely left our town due to housing difficulties. While Director Norton has not made public her future endeavors, we thank her for a long, fruitful yet at times difficult, decade of public service, for our community, our businesses, and the families and workers that keep our town and county running. Thank you very much for your many years of service, hard work, and great strength. Your leadership and expertise will be missed. Hopefully, we will still see you in town!

START BUS SERVICE UPDATE
This Monday, August 31st, there will be a Joint Information Meeting at the Town Hall. The Town and County will be debating major changes to our transit system, including potential service cuts and fare increases. If you are a bus user in any capacity, or think there is too much traffic summer and winter, or have any other concerns about our exceptional local transit system, this is the time to speak up. Quick background information: The Wyoming Department of Transportation has cut over $1.5 million from the Jackson/START bus budget, and has also cut budgets from other transit operations in Wyoming, notably the Wind River Transportation Authority. Read more on this serious transit issue. For everyone to understand, this is a Federal decision, not a local or state decision. Town and County, jointly, will be asked to find funding solutions for START in our valley.
