Hi John,
Tomorrow at midnight is our August fundraising deadline, so in a moment, I’m going to ask if you can pitch in. But before I do, I hope you’ll let me explain just how impactful your contribution will be to Justice Democrats’ mission in the remainder of this critical election cycle and beyond.
Political fundraising has slowed this summer with primaries winding down, and I can completely understand why. Everyday people are sick and tired of the Democratic Party claiming to fight for them, only to see them take massive checks from corporate interests and billionaire donors while maintaining the status quo on their behalf.
Instead of fighting for things working people need and deserve — like universal healthcare, higher wages, and affordable housing — they continue to drop billions of dollars on the military-industrial complex and protect the profits of corporations and the wealthy elite.
Not only that, but way too many Democratic leaders are currently proving they’d rather obsessively attack the progressive movement and a leftist streamer than fight Donald Trump’s worsening corruption and fascism.
It’s enough to dishearten anyone, but we can’t give up and let the powers that be win. We’re building a movement for bold change in the Democratic Party led by and for working-class people, and we need you by our side to make it even bigger.
JD has already had our most successful primary season EVER this year, but the work isn’t over. We can elect three more progressive champions to Congress this November, but time is running out to get them the resources they need to win.
That’s why it’s imperative that we reach our $100,000 fundraising goal before we close the books on August tomorrow night. I’m going to be completely transparent with you: right now, we’re not on track to hit that amount, but you can change that.
