John,
With disruptions from COVID-19, this year showed us just how much our communities rely on workers to function.
Essential workers have kept hospitals, grocery stores, and warehouses operating so that families can get care, food, and supplies. Our country owes them such an enormous debt — one that we cannot repay with just words.
Today, we celebrate all those who put their time and effort into making our district and country whole. While we celebrate those who led the way for workers' rights and safer working conditions, we must continue to push for better worker protections, paid family leave, and healthcare, and remember that none of the victories of the American labor movement were achieved easily.
We need a government that thanks workers with more than just words. I'm running for Congress to make sure that those words turn into action.
I wish you and your families a happy and safe Labor Day,
Cameron Dr. Cameron Webb
P.S. On Friday, I had the great pleasure of visiting with some local unions!
I’ve tackled some pretty challenging skills in my life, but I have to give it up to the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local No. 10 for giving me the opportunity to experience how hard it is to weld! Also, shoutout to the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters for letting me tour their KML Carpenters Apprenticeship site.
In both visits, I saw hard work, dedication, and lifelong skill development on full display. I'm so grateful to these great unions for supporting my campaign and for giving me a window into their job training efforts for our district!
Dr. Cameron Webb is running for Congress to represent Virginia's Fifth District because access to affordable healthcare is a defining issue of our time. As a doctor, lawyer, and father, Cameron brings a critical perspective on the healthcare crisis and how it impacts equity and justice work. Will you support Cameron's bold campaign and make a donation now?
