I just got back from Ukraine.

I’m one of a small handful of Members of Congress to travel there in the past year — and I need to tell you what I saw, and why it matters so much to this fight.

For over four years, Ukraine has been fighting for its survival against Vladimir Putin's unprovoked invasion. I've stood with them since day one. I've led bipartisan legislation to arm Ukraine's military. I've fought to hold Russia accountable for war crimes. I've warned, again and again, that appeasing Putin doesn't bring peace — it invites the next invasion.

Here's what I saw on this trip: A country still fighting, still resilient, still holding the line — and increasingly uncertain about whether America is still standing 100% behind them.

That uncertainty didn't come from nowhere. Donald Trump has spent his presidency squeezing Ukraine while handing Vladimir Putin exactly what he wants.

I didn't take this trip for a photo opportunity. I took it because Ukraine needs to know that not every American leader has abandoned them — and because I wanted to see, firsthand, what's actually at stake in Ukraine.

This is exactly why Equal Opportunity Now exists. We need Democrats in office who understand that standing up to authoritarian aggression isn't optional — it's central to who we are as a country. MAGA Republicans cannot be trusted with this. Time and again, they have shown they'll trade away our allies' security for a photo op with a dictator.
