Friend,

From the 40-hour workweek, to the end of child labor, to safer workplace conditions, we have so much to thank the American labor movement for. Today, on Labor Day, we honor their history -- and we reflect on all that is still left to achieve in the fight for workers' rights.

This year in particular, we have seen so many people in our communities demonstrate extreme selflessness as they risk their lives to go into work at the height of a pandemic. I cannot begin to express the debt that is still owed to those who've made sacrifices and continue to do so as this virus perpetuates. It has been my absolute privilege to fight for the working families in my district, as well as those who have been displaced because of it.

Thank you to all the hard-working people who are helping our communities cope with this virus. Your resilience shown throughout this difficult year has only strengthened my resolve to keep fighting for better working conditions, increased paid family and medical leave, fairer wages, and all of the other rights that workers deserve.

I'm proud to stand with our workers and unions. And I wish all of you a safe and happy Labor Day.

In solidarity,

Jennifer
