Colin and our team are taking every precautionary step to protect ourselves and our families and stop the spread of this virus. To find out what you can do to stay healthy, check out the CDC’s website for the most up-to-date information. Additionally, if you or a loved one are a member of our veteran community, we want to make sure you saw news on Colin’s work to secure a new VA hospital in North Texas.

We know these are tough times for so many families, but we appreciate you staying with us.

John,

I wanted to take a moment to write to you about what Labor Day means to me —  and to ask you to join me in standing with our workers.

I grew up as the son of a single mother who taught in Dallas public schools all her life. The values she instilled in me — faith, hard work, and a sense that we all deserve the chance to work hard and live our version of the American Dream — are the values that powered the labor movement, and later brought us Labor Day.

And when I was elected to Congress in 2018, I took those values with me. I ran a campaign centered on the hard-working families of North Texas and have fought for them every day in Congress.

This Labor Day, I think of the values that are reflected every day by our essential workers as they put their safety at risk to keep our communities running. That’s why I’m taking this moment to thank them for their service — and asking you to add your name here to join me.

Our essential workers — from the doctors and nurses on the front lines to the grocery store clerks and service workers helping us put food on the table — have done everything they can to maintain some sense of normalcy in these unprecedented times.

As I continue to fight in Congress to build an economy that works for everyone, with fair wages and good jobs, and expand access to affordable health care and personal protective equipment — I am thankful for their strength and sacrifice.

When this pandemic is over, we will look back knowing that we made it through because of our essential workers. And I will always do everything I can to ensure every North Texan has a fair shot and can live their version of the American Dream.

In commemoration of this Labor Day, I’m asking you to add your name here to show your thanks for their support.
