John, The Texas Attorney General is meant to root out corruption, not participate in it. Ken Paxton betrayed public trust by abusing the office for his own personal and political gain.

We can expect that Mayes Middleton would do more of the same. He voted to acquit Paxton on charges of corruption and has pledged to use the AG’s office as Paxton did: to “defeat the left.”

Middleton clearly is not concerned with fighting corruption. He is concerned with buying his way up the political ladder. He’s just a richer Ken Paxton.

I’m not running to emulate Ken Paxton. I’m running to fulfill the intended role of the Attorney General and restore trust in the office.

Texans are ready for something different, and the numbers prove it. Polling has the race as a toss-up, with maybe a million votes yet to commit.

This is a close race. We absolutely have to be able to counter the force of the MAGA money people who want to install their next puppet of corruption, MAGA Mayes, to continue Paxton’s legacy.
