Friend,

This Labor Day, I want to take a moment to recognize the Alaskan union members. They keep Alaska’s workforce smart and strong, our communities healthy and safe, and our state at the forefront of innovation.

I’ve felt firsthand the power of unions. My dad was a mechanic, and he worked on the North Slope as a Teamster changing tires on big rigs. At his funeral, his Teamster family told me that they would be there for me—and they were.

That is why I am so honored that the Alaska AFL-CIO endorsed me last week. Their endorsement was historic—is the first time they’ve endorsed a challenger running against Don Young.

** American Federation of Labor, Congress of Industrial Organizations of Alaska: “This is a pivotal moment in our country’s history and Alaskans need a leader like Alyse Galvin. Alyse understands the changing landscape that Alaska’s working people are facing and is committed to ensuring that the future of the Alaska labor movement is stronger than ever.” **

In Congress, I will support policies that strengthen our families ability to take care of our own — including fighting to protect collective bargaining and shore up pensions and prevailing wage laws. I will be a champion for labor and the dignity of hard work.

If you share my vision and values, I hope you’ll consider joining our campaign today.

Thank you again to all of the union workers who make our state and our country a better place. I can’t wait to serve you in Washington.

In solidarity,

Alyse
