Hi John,

Today, we are celebrating everyday workers. It takes hard work to pave our roads, teach our children, build our cars and ships, and provide the basic services we all rely upon. It’s often required that workers demand fair compensation and good working conditions.

The Maine Democratic Party believes in the rights of workers to organize, earn a living wage and build upward mobility for the working class.

The same cannot be said for Susan Collins.

Collins voted to confirm anti-labor activist Eugene Scalia to lead the Department of Labor, as well as anti-union judges and a pro-corporate National Labor Relations Board. Instead of passing legislation to help workers get by during this pandemic, she went on vacation.

That’s why the President of the Maine AFL-CIO put out an op-ed on Friday calling for all of us to come together and elect a pro-labor Senator to replace Susan Collins.

Can we count on you to pitch in $20.20 or whatever you can afford to defeat Susan Collins and elect Democrats up and down the ballot to ensure workers’ rights are protected?

Make no mistake: the future of workers’ rights are on the ballot this November. It’s up to all of us to protect those rights -- not just for ourselves, but also for generations yet to come.

Thank you,

Team Maine Dems
