The desperation among the trans-Atlantic elites to escalate on the global fronts of war in the world today—Iran and Ukraine—emanate from the ongoing breakdown of the global financial system. The looming threat of a global nuclear war today will be the result of the inability of the trans-Atlantic based Epstein Class to prevent the implosion of their system, backed by fictitious assets, derivatives, and other non-productive junk.

Yesterday, on the 169th weekly online meeting of the International Peace Coalition, EIR’s Ibero America Intelligence Director Dennis Small provided a significant overview of the crisis in the U.S. economy, which is now $40 trillion in debt, and paying $1 trillion annually on interest payments from that debt. In 2025, two categories of the U.S. budget—military spending and interest payments on debt—made up 28% of the national budget! The attempts by Soros-linked Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to issue shorter-term Treasury debt will not resolve the problem.

Another of Bessent’s initiatives is his announced “Operation Economic Outcast,” which declares all nations doing business with Iran as “outcasts” who will find themselves cut off from the U.S. dollar and the global financial system. Unfortunately for Bessent, Iran has not been cut off from the rest of the world in terms of trade. Iran continues to conduct business with China, Russia, Pakistan, India, the United Arab Emirates, and many more nations. Iran is a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the BRICS+, regional configurations which are attempting to promote the economic interests of the Global South.

If Bessent and others of the Epstein Class are allowed to continue their policies, the U.S. will not only not recover, but disintegrate. The new monetarist fad of today: the explosion in AI date center construction, is the latest iteration of a speculative bubble.

We must reconsider where we are headed before it is too late. American economist Lyndon LaRouche developed a science of physical economy based on the increase of mankind’s power of nature, expressed by an increase in discoveries of universal physical principles, and an upgrading of man’s ability to do work by applying those newly discovered principles into the production process itself. Lyndon LaRouche’s metric of potential relative population density determines how many people can be sustained on a given area of land, which increases only with new discoveries and technological advances.

The deindustrialization of U.S. cities, the lack of adequate medical care, the decrease in the quality of education, the neglect of transportation and water infrastructure, and the suppression of family farms in favor of corporate cartels has led to an overall decrease in potential relative population density. The global financial system must be put into a state of orderly bankruptcy reorganization, and from there reinstitute credit to the development of the nation and world through long-term projects for industrialization and scientific development.

Will we address reality by recognizing where we have gone wrong, and implementing policies to reverse it?
