John – Happy Labor Day.

Today we celebrate the working people who built this country. Let us remember and thank our labor unions for the important role they have played in the lives of all American workers and honor the sacrifices of generations of American families who made the workers’ rights that we all enjoy today possible.

My work in Congress has always been about putting the people of Northeastern Pennsylvania first, further investing in the American Labor movement that began over a century ago. That’s because our economy is stronger when working people have the opportunity to get ahead.

That’s why I’m fighting for hazard pay for our essential workers, to protect collective bargaining rights, and to bring drug manufacturing jobs back from China to our shores.

At a time when so many Americans are struggling to get a fair shot in today’s economy, it is more important than ever to double down on this work.

On Labor Day and every day, I’m grateful for the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our great nation. Let’s keep up the fight to create good-paying jobs and ensure our businesses are supported through this economic crisis.

Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable Labor Day!

– Matt
