Happy Labor Day, John.

Last year, you may have enjoyed a cookout, a parade, or a gathering with family and friends. This year, Labor Day won’t just look different, it has taken on a completely different meaning.

In the midst of COVID-19, millions of Americans are out of work, and millions more are working in potentially unsafe conditions -- oftentimes without hazard pay. I hear stories every day of people who are out of work or taking great risk to serve the public and continue putting food on the table.

Meanwhile, politicians in Washington like Mitch McConnell are refusing to provide relief like unemployment insurance or rental assistance.

It goes without saying, but this Labor Day we should be doing much more to help the American workforce -- not less. We need to support those who lost their jobs and our workers who are still on the frontlines of this crisis.

Today, let’s come together and reaffirm our commitment to our frontline workers -- from the United States Postal Service employees who continue to deliver our mail, to our grocery store employees and food service workers.

Thanks for your support,

Mike

P.S. If you are planning to celebrate, please don’t forget to do so safely and wear your mask.
