Hello there --

Today we honor the pioneers of the labor movement and their fight to create an economy where families could make a dignified living and make their mark on the world. As America recovers from the economic fallout of COVID-19, that fight still continues.

While many have the day off, let us not forget the hard-working men and women who are still at work facing this pandemic, and those who are currently living paycheck to paycheck or just trying their best to make ends meet.

That weighs heavy on my heart today. But I am keeping hope because it is with that hope – and a determination to strive for more -- that America has gotten through some of its worst challenges. And as we continue to fight for a better economy that will work for all of us, we will prevail again as a country.

So, on this Labor Day, I ask that you join me and reconfirm our commitment to fight for our working families who get up each day to keep our communities running. We are so grateful.
