AFL filed a formal rulemaking petition calling on the Corporation for
National and Community Service, an independent government agency
commonly referred to as “AmeriCorps,” to repeal a Biden-era
regulation that created a Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer
leadership position at AmeriCorps.
AFL’s petition urges AmeriCorps to abolish the role and restore
merit-based leadership, reconnecting the organization with its roots
of strengthening communities, preserving natural resources, and
fostering civic engagement. The petition argues that when an American
needs help, the last thing they are considering is the race, gender,
or ethnicity of the person who comes to their aid.
AMERICA FIRST LEGAL SUPPORTS EEOC PROPOSAL TO END MANDATORY RACE AND
SEX REPORTING REQUIREMENTS THAT FUEL CORPORATE DEI

AFL filed a comment supporting the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission’s (EEOC) proposed rule ending federal requirements
forcing employers to collect and report race- and sex-based data to
the government.
Since 1966, federal regulations have required employers and other
entities to sort their employees into racial, ethnic, and sex-based
categories. These mandates create the very infrastructure that
corporate America has used to implement unlawful DEI programs.
EEOC’s proposed rule would eliminate federal reporting requirements,
and AFL’s comment urges the Commission to adopt it immediately.
AMERICA FIRST LEGAL URGES U.S. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TO CLOSE PPRA
LOOPHOLE TO PREVENT SCHOOLS FROM CONDUCTING “GENDER-AFFIRMING
CARE” SCREENINGS WITHOUT PARENTAL CONSENT

AFL filed a formal petition for rulemaking with the U.S. Department of
Education, asking the agency to clarify a provision of the Protection
of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA), a federal law that prevents schools
from administering certain medical examinations or surveys without
parental consent.
AFL is asking the Department of Education to clarify that the PPRA’s
exception clause refers only to examinations for assessing a
student’s physical health. It does not encompass: mental health
screenings, psychological evaluations, social-emotional assessments,
or examinations undertaken to evaluate, facilitate, or support
“gender-affirming care.”
