John,
If you’ve been following the news, you might have seen that the Justice Department under the Trump administration is rolling back critical gun safety regulations. From dismantling rules intended to close the gun show loophole to scaling back restrictions on dangerous accessories like bump stocks, federal agencies are making choices that compromise public safety.
It’s frustrating. It’s infuriating. But most of all, it’s a reminder of why our movement exists.
March For Our Lives was founded during a Trump administration. When federal leadership failed to protect us, young people took to the streets, mobilized our peers, and held lawmakers accountable. We proved that real, lasting change doesn’t just come from politicians or courtrooms — it comes from a relentless culture shift driven by youth-led grassroots organizing.
We’ve done it before, and we are going to do it again.
All the rollbacks in the world can’t erase the power of young people raising their voices, educating their communities, and demanding a future free from gun violence. We are continuing to build toolkits for student organizers, uplift survivor stories, and train high school and college activists across the country to stand up for their right to live.
But we need your help to keep this momentum going.
